Eligibility CriteriaNEET – As per the latest NEET  eligibility criteria, the minimum age required to appear in the exam is 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course. The upper age limit for NEET (UG) is 25 years as on the date of examination with relaxation of 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category and persons entitled for reservation under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. The National Testing Agency (NTA), the regulatory body for NEET.  H“ave determined the NEET 2019 eligibility criteria for the first time. Aspirants of NEET  seeking admission to the medical, dental and AYUSH courses at the undergraduate level are advised to check the eligibility criteria of NEET. The prerequisites given here are in accordance with those specified by NTA based on the Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, 1997 (amended in 2018). NEET eligibility criteria specifies the age limit, academic qualifications, nationality and other mandatory requirements which must be met by all the aspirants. NEET was held on May 5 in a single shift. Candidates who will not meet NEET eligibility criteria will be ineligible for the entrance exam. Since NEET was made mandatory for candidates who wish to study medicine abroad, therefore, such candidates were required to fill the NEET application form. Qualifying Exam:

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subject in both Classes 11 and 12 from a recognized board.

NEET Eligibility Criteria for NRI/Foreign students

In order to be eligible for NEET, it is mandatory for candidates to pass Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. The candidates who have completed their education from outside the country must fulfil the NEET eligibility criteria . The last examination passed by these candidates must be equivalent to Class 12 qualification from other countries. Candidates should have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology including practical test in each of these subjects and English in the qualifying examination.

Qualifying Marks for NEET 

To fulfill the NEET eligibility criteria, the candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually in the qualifying examination

Candidates belonging to the unreserved category should score a minimum required percentage of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in their Class 12 or HSC examination.

Candidates who belong to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes (OBC) should score a minimum of 40% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in aggregate in the qualifying examination.

For persons with locomotor disability of lower limbs, a minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required in aggregate across Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology.
